Shamanic Symbols
Shamanic Symbols are tools used to represent and "capture" the essence of the
supernatural worlds in which a Shaman travels, gathering information, teachings and
healing.  These symbols keep the connection "alive" and enable a simpler transition
from one reality to another.

Dances, gestures, and sound can all be symbols as well as masks, sacred objects,
glyphs and pictures....
The Celtic Knots represent the
interconnectedness of Life with
no begining nor end....

The Power of the Horse

In this land, the Horse has been a symbol of freedom and
independence since time immemorial.  Everywhere you go,
in the towns and countryside you will see an abundance of
horses.  They are an integral part of our culture.

Free Horse Dreamers live in Kent.  The insignia of this
county is a White Horse.  This part of the UK was where the
Romans first landed.  Julius Ceasar was repelled by the
local Cantii tribe in their Horse drawn chariots and had to
return a year later with massive reinforcements.

One of the most important Goddess in Celtic society was
Epona - Horse Goddess of Fertility.  The spring Beltain
Festival was held in her honour and was a celebration of
the union-physical, spiritual and mental- of the Male and
Female in all creation.  She was the only Celtic deity to be
adopted by the Romans into their pantheon such was her
importance.
There is a tradition in England of hill figures carved into the chalk many of these are of Horses.  The oldest being the
Ufffingham Horse – circa 2000BC - and the most modern the Millennium Horse at Folkestone in Kent –completed for the
millenium. Both of these are very evocative and speak to me of the continuity and connection with the ancestors of the
land that we walk-as we go hand in hand into our future.

Shamanically, the Horse symbolises freedom and journeys - on this plane and others.  A Shaman’s drum is known as a
Spirit Horse whose heartbeat carries travellers to the worlds beyond in the Spirit Realms.

In some Medicine Wheels the Horse resides in the South - a place of passion, youth, freedom and the Element of Water.
In Scottish mythology the Kelpie is a Water Horse Spirit who lures unexpecting Men to an eternity of slavery beneath the
Waterfalls of Scotland - a dangerous beauty indeed!

As our name Free Horse Dreamers suggests, we journey and dream with passion.  We offer different ways to access the
inner realms of each individual; and with loyalty and impecability, will guide you to your own truths and freedom.  In the
end, remember you are your own greatest teacher.
